The Denver Broncos ’ first touchdown of the 2026 NFL Playoffs did not come from a familiar source. On their third drive of the game against the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round , Bo Nix hit backup offensive tackle Frank Crum to give the Broncos the lead.

Crum checked the game as an eligible receiver on a 3rd-and-1 play from the Bills’ seven-yard line in the second quarter. A handoff fake from Nix to RJ Harvey left Crum wide open in the flat, where he received the short pass and broke a tackle at the goal line to plunge in for his first career score.

Crum beat linebacker Matt Milano , who bit on the weak-side fake to Harvey and left his cover wide open. The 25-year-old lineman still had to hold onto the ball while being upended by safety Cam Lewis to get into the end zone.

Crum, a second-year undrafted player out of Wyoming, appeared in 11 regular season games. He started two games at tackle due to injuries and had not caught a pass in the NFL until his special play on Sunday.

The touchdown was also the first of Nix’s playoff career. Fans had several questions about Nix entering the game, with it being his first career postseason appearance against a veteran in Josh Allen .

Nix would have had the first touchdown of his playoff career at the end of the Broncos’ first drive, but it was egregiously dropped by Lil’Jordan Humphrey. Humphrey would get a chance to redeem himself at the end of the first half, catching a deep pass from Nix to put Denver up 17-10 .
