The Denver Broncos are looking to the future.
After their season-ending loss on Monday, they signed six players to reserve/future deals. Two of them are running backs.
Those RBs? Deuce Vaughn and Cody Schrader .
They both finished the season on Denver's practice squad. Clearly, the Broncos liked them.
These contracts keep the players around throughout the offseason program.

The others to sign: linebacker Levelle Bailey , tight end Caleb Lohner , defensive tackle Jordan Miller and offensive guard Calvin Throckmorton .
Vaughn is the diminutive former star from Kansas State. He broke into the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys but didn't stick there.
He joined the Broncos' practice squad for most of the season, but he was never elevated for gameday.

The Broncos claimed Schrader off waivers midway through the season, but he also never played a snap.
Unlike Vaughn, Schrader is a bigger, power back.
Together, they give Denver a couple different looks down on their RB depth chart, and they'll keep pushing to eventually get further opportunities in the NFL.
