A trip to Wednesday's Flyers' Game 6 win netted a Bucks County man the hockey stick that shot the winning goal against the Pittsburgh Penguins , sending Philadelphia to the second round on the NHL playoffs. But now he has returned the prized to Flyer Cam York.
Jack Brod, of Newtown, a lifelong Flyers fan, was in the stands at the Xfinity Mobile Arena on April 29 when defenseman Cam York scored the lone goal in overtime in what instantly became a Philly sports classic.

York, jubilant as the place erupted in cheers, launched his stick into the stands.

"That goal goes in, people are just going crazy around me," Brod told NBC Sports Philadelphia .
"I'm just watching Cam and I see him toss his stick and it was kind of shocking, because you know that doesn't happen in hockey games too often."
He said he followed the path of the stick into the stands "largely in self-preservation because it was coming in our direction."
"It was one of the best Philadelphia sports moments I've ever experienced," he said.

NBC Sports characterized the stick catch as a "collaboration" with two other fans, identified as "Cam" and "Mitch", both Temple University alums, who were near Brod when York's stick flew at them.
It was the two men who actually were hit and then caught the stick "but decided it was best to give the stick to Jack."
"This is the city of brotherly love," said one of the men. "We do not do anything but celebrate that together."
After the game, York told reporters he is glad the stick didn't cause injuries.
"I hope everyone's OK in the stands. Definitely don't want a lawsuit," he said.

Brod returned the stick to York on Friday. But he didn't go away empty-handed. He received tickets to the next playoff game in Philadelphia, got a signed jersey and another game stick that York had used.
"I was thinking to myself if Cam thinks this is his lucky stick as it should be with that overtime goal he scored with it, and he wants it for the next series I want to go deliver it to him immediately," he said.
