One player who was in the news earlier this offseason for the Milwaukee Bucks was Myles Turner. Turner had spoken about how the Bucks organization was operating late in the season when former MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo was in his final days with the team.
The comments sparked a lot of controversy, and some felt like Turner spoke out of place. Just recently, Myles Turner talked about how he tunes out negativity during the season. He says he avoids ESPN and shows like First Take, as he feels those shows can consume him.

He feels as though these shows are purposefully trying to spread negativity and cause problems within the NBA. At this stage, the Bucks are in; that kind of negativity is the last thing they need for their roster, which is much younger than in previous seasons.

As for Myles Turner, this year could be crucial for him, and it could determine whether or not he stays as a long-term piece in Milwaukee. In 2025, Turner signed with the Bucks for four years and $108 million.
Last season, he was not much of a focal point for the Bucks, but now, with a complete reset of the roster, he could be back to being one of those pieces that the backcourt looks for consistently.

In his last season with the Indiana Pacers, Myles Turner averaged over 15 points per game and 2 blocks. This past season, his stats dropped across the board as he finished averaging 11.9 points per game and 1.6 blocks.
Now, without Giannis on the roster and occupying the frontcourt, opportunities could open up for Turner. Turner will be called upon to be much more productive and help the likes of Brayden Burries and Ryan Rollins.

Most of the offensive attention from the Bucks will come from Tyler Herro, so Turner can be that safety valve around the rim. What helps the most is that Turner can be someone who can spread the floor.

If Turner can be reliable from downtown, it could make the Bucks' offense more effective. While this is a team that is not projected to be a top team in the NBA, they have a high enough ceiling to take them to the postseason.
The Bucks' front office will likely use this year to evaluate who will be on their roster long-term, and Myles Turner could play his way to being a focal point moving forward.
