Bucks news: Is Giannis Antetokounmpo playing vs. Nets after ESPN report highlights injury controversy? appeared first on ClutchPoints . Add ClutchPoints as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
The Milwaukee Bucks travel to face the Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Tuesday night in the middle of what looks like a crisis season. The Bucks have lost 13 games by 25 or more points , the most in franchise history, and are out of the postseason picture, currently 11th with a 31-47 record.
This, obviously, comes in the backdrop of the Giannis Antetokounmpo controversy, which as ESPN recently pointed out led to the franchise wanting to shut him down for the rest of the season. Giannis, however, wants to play in what is looking increasingly likely to be his final season in Milwaukee, more so because it gives him a chance to play alongside his brothers, Thanasis and Alex.
Regardless, with Milwaukee now preparing to visit the Nets, the Greek Freak is once again listed as 'out' on the official injury list . The 31-year-old is currently dealing with a left knee hyperextension and bone bruise, and is among several Milwaukee stars who will sit out for this one.
The Bucks arrive after a 131-115 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies , their second in eight games. Brooklyn comes with only slightly better form, having won twice in the last five games.
Giannis Antetokounmpo 's injury status vs. Nets

Giannis Antetokounmpo has officially been ruled out for this matchup, meaning he will not suit up against Brooklyn. The two-time MVP suffered the injury in mid-March and once again finds himself at a crossroads with his long-term team.
Giannis has publicly stated he feels ready to return, while the team's medical staff has not cleared him, even prompting a league investigation into how the situation has been handled. Regardless, the Bucks are just 31-47 on the season and will miss the postseason for the first time in nine seasons.
The clash against the Nets has little postseason implications, with Brooklyn themselves struggling at No. 13 in the East with a 19-59 record. Further, both teams have a crowded injury report.
For the Nets, Nic Claxton
is sidelined with a finger sprain, while Noah Clowney
, Egor Demin
, Terance Mann
, Michael Porter Jr.
, Day'Ron Sharpe, Ziaire Williams
, and Danny Wolf
are all ruled out.
For Milwaukee, Antetokounmpo headlines a long list of absentees that includes Kyle Kuzma (Achilles tendinopathy), Kevin Porter Jr. (knee synovitis), Bobby Portis (wrist sprain), Ryan Rollins (hip strain), Gary Trent Jr. (hip pointer), and Myles Turner (ankle sprain).
