The Tampa Bay Buccaneers continue to explore potential upgrades along their offensive line, and their latest move signals a willingness to take a chance on former high-end talent. According to reports, the Buccaneers recently worked out former Houston Texans guard Kenyon Green, a 2022 first-round pick whose NFL career has yet to live up to expectations.
However, Tampa Bay did not sign Green following the workout, leaving the door open for a potential reunion later this offseason.

Green entered the league with plenty of promise after a standout career at Texas A&M, where his size, power, and versatility made him one of the top interior offensive line prospects in his class. But through his first few seasons in the NFL, injuries and inconsistent play have prevented him from establishing himself as a reliable starter. Still, the traits that made him a first-round selection remain intriguing.
For the Buccaneers, this is exactly the type of low-risk, high-upside evaluation that makes sense. While Green may not be an immediate solution, he offers developmental potential and could provide valuable depth at interior offensive line, an issue the team struggled with last season after multiple starters missed time with injuries. With the NFL Draft approaching, the Buccaneers may be keeping their options open, evaluating incoming rookie talent before circling back to veteran depth pieces like Green.
If the team doesn't fully address the interior offensive line during the draft, Green could quickly re-emerge as a viable option and at just 24 years old, there's still time for him to turn things around in the right environment.
