Steph Curry 's comments about the intense defensive pressure he faced from the Charlotte Hornets have sparked plenty of conversation across basketball circles.
The Golden State Warriors guard spoke after being tightly marked by Collin Sexton and Sion James throughout the game.
His remarks caught the attention of Caitlin Clark, who showed her support for Curry while also adding a playful twist to the discussion.
Clark, also known for her own long-range shooting and court vision, chimed in with a light-hearted response that quickly resonated with fans.
It was another example of the mutual respect between two of basketball's most exciting offensive talents.
Curry reflected on his experience facing Charlotte's backcourt duo after the Warriors' matchup.
He admitted that the physical defense was challenging while acknowledging it as a sign of respect.
"There's a part of you that fights it just because it's not real basketball," Curry said. "But there's also a part of it that's flattering."
The Hornets' defensive plan focused on denying Curry the ball and preventing him from finding rhythm beyond the arc, with Sexton and James shadowing him throughout the contest.

Although the approach limited Curry's scoring opportunities, he still made key contributions elsewhere, continuing to draw attention with his off-ball movement and playmaking.
Curry's remarks reflected a wider conversation about how defenses are adapting to counter elite shooters.
While his frustration was evident, he also recognised that the attention he receives is part of what comes with being one of the most dangerous scorers in NBA history.
Clark reacted to Curry's comments on social media, siding with the Warriors star and calling for defenders to ease off.
"We want to see Steph make 12 threes a game stop grabbing him please," Clark commented on NBC Sports' TikTok .
Both players have drawn comparisons for their ability to hit deep shots under pressure and create excitement every time they step on the court.
Clark's response highlighted that shared understanding, as well as the growing connection between the NBA and WNBA.
