RJ Barrett 's miraculous, bounce-aided 3-pointer sent the Toronto Raptors past the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night to force a Game 7 in their first round Eastern Conference series in the NBA playoffs.

It was very, very close to not counting.

When Barrett's shot hit the back rim and bounced straight up in the air, it brought into play an object that rarely is near the basketball.

There's a camera extended off the top of the shot clock that hovers with a top-down view of the rim.

The ball came within what looked like a foot of hitting the camera.

If it had hit the camera, it would've been ruled out of bounds, even if it deflected down through the hoop.

Could you imagine? It drops in, the crowd goes crazy, but the refs are actually blowing their whistles through the cheers to tell everyone that it didn't count.

It's probably a good thing to avoid such controversy and confusion, but it's something you don't normally consider.

The bounce here was so crazy, measured as more than two meters above the hoop, that a camera way up there came into play.

And the bounce was just right that not only did the shot go in -- it just missed the camera that would've ruined the whole moment.
