Santaigo Castro scored his first goal for Roma against Genoa. Speaking to Sky Calcio, the Argentine striker commented on the match against the Ligurians, which ended 2-0 to the Giallorossi.
Regarding the impact of his first goal for the Giallorossi, Castro said: "I'm very happy; it's so important. Today was a very tough match because we knew they play man-to-man. Daniele knows how to play against us, and last year, at their home, it was also a difficult match. We managed to score early in the second half and then played well, creating chances. We're happy because today, players who haven't played much so far got a lot of minutes."
"Even the players who missed today's match and the staff gave us confidence. They're extraordinary guys. I'm three years older than him, but he works like a dog, runs, runs, runs, and learns every day, like all the guys. He deserves it so much; he's a golden boy."
"I hit a lot of posts, but I worked hard. The guys, not just the staff, but also the Argentinians and everyone else, gave me so much confidence. This is important, not just for me, but for everyone, because, as I said before, many guys who hadn't had many minutes played today. And all the starters—so to speak, because no one feels like a starter or part of a second team—gave us so much confidence. We managed to win this difficult match and stay where we wanted to be," Castro concluded.
