Max Strus was instrumental in powering the Cleveland Cavaliers to an all-important 117-113 OT win over the Detroit Pistons in Game 5 of their Eastern Conference semifinal series. Strus recorded 20 points and eight huge rebounds, continuing to prove himself as a playoff riser. But beyond his contributions on the court, Strus made waves for bewitching Charles Barkley after Barkley couldn’t contain his admiration of the Cavs veteran’s good looks.
On Inside the NBA, following the Cavs’ win, Barkley called Strus a “pretty man” and even though the man bun doesn’t work for Strus in his eyes, he said, on multiple occasions, than he thinks that Strus is a “good-looking man”. In fact, the Hall of Famer even admitted to being sort of “attracted” to Strus’ “face” and that he would “not look him [straight] in the eye”, perhaps out of fear that he’d melt completely when he makes eye contact.
This was a hilarious segment on Inside the NBA and this basically came out of nowhere. And now, Barkley has become the punchline of plenty of jokes on social media for his purported attraction towards Strus and men who give off the same vibe, including Tom Brady. Even Strus himself has now reacted to all the memes that Barkley spawned with the way he fawned over the Cavs guard on live television.
“Look what you started,” Strus wrote as the caption on his Instagram story.
It’s hilarious to imagine just how much more smitten Barkley would be of Strus should the Cavs guard go back to his haircut back in the 2024 NBA playoffs. Now, Strus is more than content to grow his hair and have that sort of rugged look about him. Even then, Barkley sees through all that hair and clearly is still enamored of it all the same.
Barkley will be seeing Strus back in action on the court tomorrow night at 7:00 PM E.T. when the Cavs look to close out their series against the Pistons in Game 6 at home.
