The Boston Celtics picked a guard named Yam Madar with the No. 47 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
Six years later, LSU head basketball coach Will Wade was trying to get Madar to come play college hoops for him with the Tigers.
Turns out, that won't be happening.
Insider Jeff Goodman has reported that Madar won't be heading to Baton Rouge.
Goodman added this commentary in a follow-up post on X:
Being an NBA Draft pick hasn't stopped eligibility recently. The Knicks' former second-round pick James Nnaji was allowed to play for Baylor last season and is now at George Mason.
But Madar's professional experience may have hurt his cause here, too.

Where has Yam Madar been playing?
Madar most recently suited up for Hapoel Tel Aviv, an Israeli team that plays in the top-tier EuroLeague.
He has also played for Bayern Munich in Germany, Fenerbahce in Turkey and Partizan in Belgrade.
In EuroLeague action in 2025-26 with Hapoel Tel Aviv, Madar averaged just 3.2 points and 1.4 assists per game.
He played a lot more in Israeli league action, putting up 13.2 points and 4.0 assists per game.
He never developed into an NBA-level player, and at least at the moment, he won't be coming to the NCAA, either.
