Celtics' Mitchell Robinson Stat Will Blow Your Mind, and Frustrate You originally appeared on NESN . Add NESN as a Preferred Source by clicking here .
The Boston Celtics haven't had many issues on either end of the floor to start the season, but it feels like they could be playing much better.
Much of that centers on the lack of production from newly acquired center Mitchell Robinson, who looks like a shell of himself compared to what he was with the New York Knicks.
It's interesting to look at what Robinson has done in his first couple of games in Boston, though it's important to remember he's only played in six.
Robinson is still a guy we should trust because of what he's done throughout his career, even if some fans have been a bit frustrated with his play to start.
However, the stats also back up some of fans' frustration. There's no debate that Robinson isn't rebounding at the level anybody was hoping for, as he's already had five games with fewer than two offensive rebounds. Last year with the Knicks in a bigger role, he had that in only 14 games.
"Over six games played with the Celtics, Robinson has already posted five with two offensive rebounds or fewer after only 14 such games all of last season with the New York Knicks. Statistically one of the best offensive rebounders ever — he entered this season tied with Dennis Rodman in career offensive rebound percentage — Robinson is on pace to set a career low in that category," Jay King wrote .
I can sense the frustration coming out of Boston with Robinson, and in a way, it's more than fair.
Everybody was hoping he'd be a perfect player for this team because of his ability to rebound on the offensive glass at such a high level. However, it's also way too early to tell whether he can eventually be the guy he once was and the Celtics really need.
There's going to be a lot of pressure on him to improve, but this is a guy who has done that well at a high level for his entire career.
