The dawn of a new era in Penn State football has officially arrived. The Nittany Lions start a new season on Saturday afternoon with a home game against Marshall, and it should be a great day overall for football in Happy Valley. Matt Campbell makes his coaching debut with the Nittany Lions as Penn State fans will get their first taste of this new-look roster in real game action.
Penn State's roster will be fueled with a bit of an Iowa State flavor with quarterback Rocco Becht, running back Carson Hansen, and wide receivers Brett Eskildsen and Chase Sowell. But there are some familiar names back in the mix this season as well, with young rising players like Quinton Martin Jr. at running back and Koby Howard at wide receiver. The defense will also have some familiarity with the return of a healthy Tony Rojas at linebacker.

Penn State went 7-6 last season with a victory in the Pinstripe Bowl. Marshall is coming off a 5-7 season. While Penn State is entering its first season with Campbell, Marshall is heading into its second season under Tony Gibson as head coach.
