Charles Oliveira has built his legacy as one of the UFC’s most accomplished Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners. The current BMF champion and former lightweight title holder holds the record for most submissions in the promotion with 17.
His elite grappling credentials have defined his career, placing him among the most dangerous submission artists the sport has seen. That background has now brought added attention to his family.

Oliveira’s daughter has started her own journey in the sport, and her first competitive appearance quickly caught attention.
Tayla Oliveira wins first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament
Tayla Oliveira, just nine years old, secured victory in her first Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament last weekend.
Competing as a white belt, she submitted her opponent to earn her first medal in competition, delivering an impressive debut performance.
Her progression comes from a strong martial arts background, with her mother, Talita Roberta, also a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt.
The result highlights a family deeply rooted in the mats, with Tayla already showing signs of promise at an early stage.

While attention turns to his daughter, Oliveira’s own future in the UFC remains uncertain.
He is pushing for another title opportunity after back-to-back wins over Mateusz Gamrot and Max Holloway.
However, the lightweight division remains competitive, with Arman Tsarukyan emerging as a leading contender on a five-fight winning streak.
That situation leaves Oliveira waiting as the lineal titleholder, Ilia Topuria, and interim champion, Justin Gaethje, will have a unification bout at UFC Freedom 250 in June.
