Woods, the 306th-ranked player in the AJGA Rankings, made five birdies and four bogeys, including two dropped shots on par 5s, and was tied for eighth when he signed his card. One of his circles came at the tricky par-3 third, after Woods buried a lengthy birdie look.
In seven previous AJGA starts this year, Woods finished inside the top 20 once, and that came all the way back in January at the Junior Orange Bowl International Championships. Since then, his best finish was at the Team TaylorMade Invitational where he tied for 28th.
Next fall, Woods will join the golf team at Florida State , where he'll be teammates with Miles Russell, the fifth-ranked amateur in the world.
