Chennedy Carter expressed her feelings after a college commentator mistook Las Vegas Aces assistant head coach Nola Henry for Carter. After the 2026 WNBA season, the coaching staff is already scouting for younger talent to strategize for the offseason and the 2027 WNBA draft. However, Carter wasn't happy with being confused with the Aces coaching staff member.
Aces head coach Becky Hammon was also courtside as the USC Trojans defeated the UNLV Lady Rebels, 100-68, as the 2027 WNBA draft's top prospect, JuJu Watkins, scored 21 points on 9-for-22 from the floor. Henry accompanied Hammon to the game to scout Watkins for the team next season.
Notably, the Aces have already traded their 2027 WNBA Draft first-round pick to the Dallas Wings. However, the Aces can still make a deal to bring her to Las Vegas. A user shared on Threads about the commentator mistaking Henry for Carter:
"This man calling the USC-UNLV game just identified Nola Henry as Chennedy Carter. 🤣🤣🤣"

The Texas native was not happy with the user and responded in the comments:
"Please don't mention my name with her or them. How can we get this out there fast enough!?"

Carter didn't have a cordial farewell in Las Vegas, as she was waived just before her non-guaranteed veteran minimum contract was set to be converted into a guaranteed deal. This might have irked Carter, and she didn't hold back on social media. She is known for being one of the more vocal players in the WNBA.
The Aces also congratulated the 2026 WNBA champions, the Golden State Valkyries, after the latter defeated the Atlanta Dream in seven games. Gabby Williams was awarded the Finals MVP after Game 7, as the Valkyries won 68-63.
The Aces' team account commented on their win in a post on X:
"Congrats, Champs! 👏✨"
The Aces were ousted by the Valkyries in three games in the semifinals. The former might look to improve the roster in the offseason after their core fell to the Valkyries' defense. Though A'ja Wilson had another MVP season, the team couldn't hold on in the postseason.
