The Chicago Bears have waived former fifth-round cornerback Zah Frazier , the team announced Thursday.
Frazier was selected in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and there were many who believed he'd compete for a starting job with the Bears . But Frazier missed the entire summer for personal reasons, and he also missed the entire 2025 regular season due to those same personal reasons.
Frazier never saw the field for Chicago outside of offseason workouts, whether it was training camp, preseason or regular season.
The Bears were hoping Frazier would factor into their plans at cornerback this offseason, where there's a starting job opposite Jaylon Johnson on the outside. Tyrique Stevenson figures to be the favorite with Terell Smith expected to bring competition coming off a season-ending injury suffered last preseason.
But you have to wonder if the selection of rookie Malik Muhammad in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft played a role in Chicago's decision to part ways with Frazier.
