The Kansas City Chiefs dropped their second straight game on Sunday, losing 28-24 to the Denver Broncos. They made a change by cutting a player from the practice squad.
Kansas City started the season 5-0 and appeared to be headed to a dominant season. However, things have not gone according to plan in the last two weeks, with different on-field issues emerging. Patrick Mahomes completed 30-of-41 passes for 321 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions but his efforts weren't enough for a win. Harrison Butker had a chance to extend the team's lead but missed his sixth field-goal attempt of the season.
The Chiefs are now 5-2 for the season and gave up the AFC West's top spot to the Broncos. They need to return to their winning ways soon, especially with four of their next six games on the road.

Chiefs Announce Roster Move After Loss To Broncos
Kansas City announced that it parted ways with Kader Kohou. The cornerback signed a one-year, $1.81 million deal in March but was released on Aug. 30. He was then re-signed to the practice squad the following day.
"The Chiefs terminated the practice squad contract of CB Kader Kohou," A to Z Sports' Charles Goldman wrote.
Kohou entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He was signed by the Miami Dolphins and made the final roster. The Texas A&M–Commerce product stayed with them until 2025.
Meanwhile, the team will be back in action on Sunday. It will host the New York Jets at Arrowhead Stadium, giving Andy Reid's squad a strong chance to snap its skid. The visitors are one of the worst teams in the league this season with a 2-6 record and have lost three consecutive outings. CBS will air the Week 9 matchup live starting at 1 p.m. ET.
