Many people around the NFL are expecting the Philadelphia Eagles to be sellers heading into the NFL trade deadline next month given the way their season has spiraled since starting 2-0.
The Eagles have a plethora of players who could be attractive to other teams in a potential trade, including one veteran wide receiver who has been a complete non-factor for Philadelphia.
Chiefs Tabbed as Ideal Landing Spot for Hollywood Brown
Hollywood Brown came to the eagles to be a deep threat on a contending team, but the Eagles aren't a true contender this season, and they have a quarterback in Tanner McKee who can't really throw a deep ball. Given his lack of a role, it seems unlikely that the Eagles would bring Brown back in free agency next offseason. So, why not flip him for some draft capital if the opportunity presents itself?
If the Eagles were to trade Brown, the Kansas City Chiefs would make sense as a potential landing spot. Brown played with the Chiefs last season and was pretty productive as he tallied 49 receptions for 587 yards and five touchdowns.
Thus, it's no surprise that Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report recently tabbed the Chiefs as the "ideal" landing spot for Brown.
"Philly signed [Brown] to a one-year, $5 million deal this offseason but has barely put him on the field. . . Brown has appeared in two games and caught his first two passes of the season on Monday night. The Eagles couldn't expect more than a late-round pick for him, but he's clearly expendable, even with multiple injuries at receiver," Knox wrote.
"If Brown is moved, the Kansas City Chiefs would be the most logical destination. Kansas City could use more receiver depth, and the 29-year-old spent his last two seasons with the Chiefs."
It feels like the Chiefs could always use additional help at receiver, and Brown already has familiarity with the offense and quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
If Kansas City would be willing to part with a late-round pick in an upcoming draft in order to facilitate a reunion, it's absolutely something that the Eagles should act on.
