The Kansas City Chiefs entered Week 15 with a must-win game against the Los Angeles Chargers . The Chiefs are 6-7 going into Sunday, and their playoff hopes are as slim as can be.
It has been a rough year for the reigning AFC champions. Patrick Mahomes has thrown for 3,398 yards with 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Tight end Travis Kelce has 60 receptions for 727 yards with five touchdowns on the year. He leads the team in receptions and yards entering the game against LA.
But he could be on pace for a third straight sub-1,000-yard season.
While the Chiefs and Chargers were playing, Kelce saw somebody pass him on an NFL record list: Arizona Cardinals tight end Trey McBride .
"Trey McBride passes Travis Kelce for the longest streak of games with 5+ receptions by a TE in NFL history," the NFL Plus account wrote amid the Cardinals' game against the Houston Texans .
Kelce set the record with 15 such games in 2018 , but now McBride has passed the Chiefs tight end.
On Sunday, the Cardinals' tight end also needed just seven receptions to get to 100 on the year. Doing so would make him the first tight end to record back-to-back 100-catch seasons in league history.

McBride has had five or more catches in every game this season, and his streak began in Week 17 of last season.
McBride also entered the game as the team leader in receptions (93), yards (937) and touchdowns (8), so it's been a strong season for the former second-round draft pick.
As for Kelce, the future Hall of Famer has plenty of other NFL records and Chiefs records, as well as three Super Bowl victories.
