During a recent appearance on the ' Chief Concerns' podcast, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tre Watson discussed the early positive impact of new wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea after offseason workouts.
"I think he brings a certain fire to the receiver room for sure, and gets those guys going. Because I mean, the receiver position, you know how it is. They have your days, whatever. Like, that's just the position. That's who they are. " It happens," said Watson, "but, um, yeah, he doesn't let it slide." Nothing. Drop. Come back to the front line. Do it again. Everybody gonna sit here waiting for you. Like he, he's definitely bringing a different fire to the room."
Kansas City hired O'Shea earlier in the offseason to serve as its new wide receivers coach, after spending years on the New England Patriots' staff from 2008 to 2018 under head coach Bill Belichick.
"I think what Chad O'Shea brings to the table is structure. As a coach, he has two jobs: to provide information and to be a psychological guy to balance the emotions, especially on the receiver side, where every guy wants to get the ball. Chad does a great job at that," said Patriots legend Julian Edelman during his interview with Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. "He's always had us prepared with all the looks; he did whatever it took to make everyone comfortable in that room."
O'Shea most recently worked for the Cleveland Browns as a wide receivers coach & passing game coordinator from 2020 to 2025.
