Chris Paul Throws Shade At Clippers With Meme After Play-In Exit
Chris Paul made it clear he was not upset to see the Los Angeles Clippers lose in the Play-In game against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday night. After falling 121-126 to the Warriors, the Clippers’ 2025-26 season is officially over.
Paul quickly took to social media after the final buzzer to troll his former team with a funeral-themed meme.

Paul and the Clippers Did Not End on Good Terms
Paul signed with the Clippers as a free agent last summer and announced the 2025-26 season would be his last run before retirement. His final season was shockingly cut short when the Clippers dismissed the future Hall of Famer from the team in December.
Two months later, the Clippers traded Paul to the Toronto Raptors in a three-team trade deal. But Paul was never required to report to the Raptors, and Toronto ultimately waived him on Feb. 13.
Paul decided to retire after that, which meant he unknowingly played the final game of his NBA career with the Clippers on Dec. 1.
The Clippers received a lot of backlash for cutting Paul in December. Then, the franchise posted a tribute video for Paul after he announced his immediate retirement in February.

Paul’s wife, Jada Paul, bluntly expressed her feelings towards the organization in the comments of the video.
“Girl, bye,” she commented on the tribute video.
The Clippers reportedly cut Paul because his leadership style clashed with the franchise, according to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania . Then, Los Angeles waited two months to trade Paul when they could have traded him as early as Dec. 15.
Trading Paul to the Raptors, which was a team that knew he would never actually play for, ultimately caused the 12-time NBA All-Star to retire earlier than he anticipated.
