Clemson lands G5 safety Corey Myrick out of the transfer portal

Clemson continued its busy stretch in the transfer portal with the addition of Southern Miss defensive back Corey Myrick . The 6-foot-3, 200-pound safety was on campus Wednesday before committing to the Tigers and will arrive with two years of eligibility remaining.

Myrick is coming off a productive season in which he totaled 91 tackles, including multiple stops for loss, while also adding two interceptions, four pass breakups and a forced fumble. His size and experience give Clemson another proven option in the secondary as the program continues to build depth heading into the future.

The commitment marks Clemson’s fifth portal pickup in a two-day span and the second safety added during that run. Myrick joins Old Dominion transfer Jerome Carter in the safety room, while the Tigers have also added Auburn cornerback Donovan Starr, Penn State defensive back Elliot Washington II and Cal linebacker Luke Ferrelli.

Before choosing Clemson, Myrick also visited Louisville and had several other programs involved in his recruitment, including Georgia Tech , LSU , Wisconsin , Cincinnati and Memphis.
