Donovan Mitchell will be the lone Cavaliers representative at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game .
Mitchell was announced as an All-Star reserve by the NBA on Feb. 1. It's his seventh consecutive All-Star selection and fourth in a row since joining the Cavs before the 2022-23 season.
Mitchell was viewed by some around the league as one of the bigger All-Star starter snubs, considering he's averaging 29.1 points on a 61.8 true shooting percentage (which effectively combines all types of shots into one number), both of which are career bests .
Mitchell has taken on an even larger scoring role than normal this season while the Cavs have dealt with a never-ending series of injuries and absences in the starting lineup and rotation. Because of that disjointed first half of the season — the Cavs entered February with a 29-21 record and holding the No. 5 seed in the East — Mitchell was not surprised he was left out of the All-Star starting lineup, though.
"To be honest, I kind of expected that," Mitchell said Jan. 19, after the Cavs lost to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder . "I mean, the guys that were named [starters], their record is better than ours. So naturally, you reward that. .. I want to be a starter for sure, but understand that, hey, at the end of the day, we win games, everybody gets rewarded."
Last season, as the Cavs raced to a 64-win season and the top seed in the East, they had three All-Stars, with Evan Mobley and Darius Garland joining Mitchell.
Mitchell is joined by Jalen Johnson , Karl-Anthony Towns , Pascal Siakam , Norman Powell , Scottie Barnes and Jalen Duren as East All-Star reserves.
When is the 2026 NBA All-Star Game?
