Clippers' Yanic Konan Niederhäuser undergoes season-ending surgery
LA Clippers rookie center Yanic Konan Niederhäuser underwent surgery on Tuesday to address a Lisfranc injury in his right foot, the team announced.
Niederhäuser suffered the injury on March 4 during a 130-107 win over the Indiana Pacers after landing awkwardly following a blocked shot. He would require assistance off the court and was ruled out of returning to the contest after 8 minutes, 15 seconds.

Lisfranc injuries occur if bones in the middle of the foot are broken or if ligaments in the area are torn. Players who have dealt with the injury in the past have missed upward of a year, though the Clippers said they do not have a timetable yet for his return to the court.
Niederhäuser finishes the season averaging 4.3 points and 2.9 rebounds on 64% shooting from the field in 41 appearances. He scored in double figures six times, including an 11-point, nine-rebound effort on March 2 in a win over the Golden State Warriors.
The 22-year-old earned an invitation to the Rising Stars Game last month at All-Star Weekend for his play in the G League. He averaged 14.7 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.6 assists in nine games with the San Diego Clippers.
Niederhäuser will now begin his rehabilitation as soon as possible and be sidelined for an indefinite period. He and the organization will hope for a quick recovery and return to the court.
