- Coaching Change As Cowboys Legend Jason Witten Promoted At Oklahoma
Want a Dallas Cowboys-related coaching move?
No, not that one; the guy in charge of "America's Team'' remains employed, with owner Jerry Jones suggesting that Brian Schottenheimer is not in job danger despite his team's woeful effort during its 3-5 start to the NFL season.

No, it's another guy with Cowboys connections - the legendary tight end Jason Witten - who is suddenly in the news amid changes where he works.
The Oklahoma Sooners moved on from offensive coordinator Ben Arbuckle on Monday, dumping him after another poor performance from the OU offense.
And according to multiple news outlets, the next man up in Norman is none other than Witten, the Sooners' first-year tighr ends coach.
So, no, this doesn't have anything to do with the Cowboys and Jones ... though we can tell you that Witten ranks right behind Tony Romo as being among the owner's all-time favorite players, often likening Witten to movie hero John Wayne.

For now? Witten, 44, will hold the title of interim playcaller at OU as he begins his climb in the coaching ranks.
Witten is in his first year at the college level after making the jump from the high school head coaching ranks at Liberty Christian in DFW.
While at that school, Witten's offenses averaged more than 40 points per game in his five seasons, and twice they averaged more than 50 points per game as the school won state titles.
Prior to joining the coaching ranks, Witten had a long career with the Cowboys, one that figures to eventually put him in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
More immediately? The Sooners offense ranks No. 109 in the nation in scoring at 22 points per game and is 111th in total yards per game ... and the Sooners - sporting just a 4-4 overall record - are second-to-last in scoring and yards in the SEC.
