For the fourth straight year, Michigan State basketball forward Coen Carr has made the preseason Top 20 watchlist for the prestigious Erving Award. The Erving Award is given to the top small forward in college basketball.
This is expected to be a huge season for Carr, who, along with Jeremy Fears Jr., will be the center of this Michigan State team. Last year, Carr made a strong run at the award, making the midseason Top 10 list for the honor .
There is a legacy for the award at Michigan State, as Denzel Valentine earned the honor back in 2015-16, the same year he was named the national player of the year by the Associated Press.
Some recent winners of the award include AJ Dybantsa, Cooper Flagg, and Dalton Knecht.
