March Madness can turn you from a regular person into a viral sensation with one performance. It can take one insane game or a viral moment to make you famous online.
That's what happened to Amir "Aura" Khan during the 2025 NCAA Tournament. He was a student manager for the McNeese State Cowboys at the time and led the squad out with a pregame walk-out. His fame took off after the Cowboys upset the Clemson Tigers in the first round.
McNeese State was led by head coach Will Wade , who left for NC State after the 2024-25 season. Khan entered the transfer portal and found a new home as well.

Players enter the transfer portal, but now student managers are doing it in college basketball . Khan packed his bags and joined the always-controversial Wade as head coach of the LSU Tigers men's basketball team.
Wade and the Tigers almost needed to see if Khan had any basketball skills because of eligibility issues surrounding this team. But LSU pulled it together for its season opener on Tuesday, Nov. 3, defeating New Orleans, 100-57.
One of Khan's most famous sayings is "If they kept manager stats for rebounding and wiping out wet spots on the court, I'd put up Wilt Chamberlain numbers."
Khan briefly joined NC State while Wade coached there, then followed him to Baton Rouge, La. Wade spent only one year on the sidelines at NC State. He was the head coach at LSU from 2017-2022 but was fired after receiving an NCAA Notice of Allegations that showed multiple major rule violations. Some of those violations involved illegally paying players. That's legal with NIL, so the Tigers welcomed Wade back.
