Collin Klein finds his GM for Kansas State football, reports

MANHATTAN — Collin Klein reportedly has his general manager for Kansas State football , and it's another former Wildcats quarterback.

Excel Sports agent Trey Scott will take over as K-State's new GM , according to multiple national reports, including On3 Sports.

Scott is from Shawnee and was on Kansas State 's roster in 2008 and 2009, which were Klein's freshman and sophomore seasons in Manhattan .

According to Scott's LinkedIn, he was a pro personnel assistant for the Washington Commanders in 2011 before becoming the player personnel executive for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2012-22. He followed by becoming an agent in 2022 with REP1 Sports , landing with Excel Sports Management in Nov. 2023.

At one point in his career, Scott was labeled as a future NFL general manager candidate. He took over the Raiders' assistant director of player personnel after the 2016 season at 28 years old.

Scott would replace Clint Brown as the Wildcats' general manager. Scott had been in the position for four seasons, overseeing the football recruiting staff and managing the roster. According to the USA TODAY General Manager pay database , Brown made $300,000 in 2025, tying for the 27th-highest GM salary in college football.
