Several members of the Indianapolis Colts 2025 NFL draft class will be stepping into much larger roles during their second NFL seasons.
The biggest developmental jumps for players often occur during their sophomore seasons. The experience gained in their rookie seasons, coupled with having a full offseason to hone their craft, are often the catalysts behind those leaps.
For the Colts , Jaylahn Tuimoloau, Justin Walley , and Jalen Travis each making a significant impact this year feels like a must for this team.
Tuimoloau had a relatively small role as a rookie, playing just over 200 snaps on the season. But this year, he will have the opportunity to compete for the starting job opposite of Laiatu Latu . Whether it's Tuimoloau or someone else, the Colts need more pass rush juice this season to pair with Latu.
Walley, meanwhile, missed his rookie season with a knee injury. Prior to the injury, Walley put together a strong showing during training camp and was poised to carve out some sort of role.
Even with all that missed time, the Colts have remained bullish on him, and he will now be stepping into the starting nickel role this season.
Lastly, 2025 fourth-round pick Jalen Travis is the presumed starter at right tackle. He got some starts down the stretch last season and was able to hold his own in those outings.
Whether the 2026 season is a success of failure for the Colts won't directly hinge on only these three players. That said, this trio can play an important role in determining what the ceiling for this Colts team ends up looking like.
