Even before the legal tampering period began, the Colts already started shaping the 2026 roster.

Follow along over the next few days as we break down each Colts' free agency move.

Colts re-sign K Blake Grupe (3/8)

Grupe was signed late last season after Michael Badgley , who took over for an injured Spencer Shrader , was released due to up-and-down play. From Week 14 through the end of the season, Grupe was a perfect 10-for-10 on field goal attempts and 11-for-11 on extra points,  according to PFF . He provided the Colts with needed stability at the position. Grupe will provide Shrader with competition for the kicking job once healthy.

Colts trade Zaire Franklin to Packers for DT Colby Wooden

Moving on from Franklin helped get the Colts out of the salary cap red . There also seems to be an emphasis on reshaping the defensive front seven this offseason. Ballard mentioned those position groups being on his radar and that, overall, he wants to get younger and faster on defense. Wooden, meanwhile, is 25 and entering the final year of his rookie deal. He's an undersized run defender, but will provide a steady rotational presence behind Grover Stewart .
