The Washington Commanders will be missing more players following a victory in Week 8 .
The Commanders, who are still fresh off a 27-10 win over the Philadelphia Eagles at home on Sunday, have moved three players to the injured reserve , as reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network on Tuesday.
"The #Commanders are placing RB Jeremy McNichols, DL Daron Payne, and DL Javon Kinlaw on Injured Reserve," Rapoport shared via a social media post on X, formerly Twitter.

McNichols, who is in his third year with the Commanders, suffered what appears to be a serious injury in the third quarter of the Eagles game. The 30-year-old running back will now have to miss at least four games, with Washington hoping that he could return to action before the end of the 2026 NFL season. On the season, McNichols has appeared in only two games, producing 34 rushing yards on 10 carries to go along with seven receiving yards and a reception.
With Payne and Kinlaw also hitting the injured reserve, the Commanders' defense will have to find a way to fill the void left by those players. Kinlaw's knee issue hasn't been a secret, and it also caused him to miss the meeting with the Eagles, so additional time appears to be needed for him to address it.
As for Payne, he is already done for the remainder of the season after suffering a Jones fracture injury in a practice before the showdown against the Eagles. The former 13th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft had a sack and a forced fumble to go with 14 combined tackles and five quarterback hits in six games played before going down with a season-ending injury.
Kinlaw, on the other hand, has two passes defended, a sack, 13 total tackles and three quarterback hits.
The Commanders are 2-4-1 through eight weeks of football.
