Enzo Maresca and his Manchester City side come into their latest encounter off the back of a difficult patch of form, having failed to win any of their last three games across competitions in a regular 90 minutes.
A 2-1 defeat at Villa Park to Aston Villa and a 0-1 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in consecutive weekends were parted by a penalty shoot-out victory over the aforementioned Seagulls in the Carabao Cup fourth round.
After a dramatic 2-2 draw in 90 minutes against Fabian Hurzeler's side, two penalty saves from back-up goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli made the difference in the shootout, securing a place for the club in the last-eight of the competition where a home tie against League One side Bradford City awaits.
Beyond Wednesday night's meeting with RB Leipzig in Germany, Manchester City will round-up their latest bulk of matches before the November international break with a trip to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
But the meeting with Martin Demichelis' side will be far from straightforward, with RB Leipzig currently fourth in the Bundesliga table, and having won all of their last three games across competitions; 4-0 vs Elversberg, 1-2 vs RW Essen, and 0-2 vs Schalke.
In the UEFA Champions League however, Leipzig have suffered two defeats at the hands of Como and Real Madrid - both 4-1 scorelines away from home - as well as a narrow 1-0 win at home to PSV.
Manchester City continue to face competitive duties without the availability of Antoine Semenyo, who is expected to be sidelined and unavailable for action until mid-December owing to an injury.
Ahead of kick-off at the Red Bull Arena, here is how both Martin Demichelis and Enzo Maresca have lined up their respective RB Leipzig and Manchester City sides in UEFA Champions League action!
