- ‘Corny Behavior,’ ‘Cut Him’ — NFL Fans Unimpressed With Titans RB’s Bizarre Pregame Fit Ahead of Eagles Showdown

Julius Chestnut apparently decided one superhero costume was not enough.
One week after arriving for the Tennessee Titans ' opener dressed as Black Panther, the running back showed up at Nissan Stadium ahead of Sunday's matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles wearing a Green Goblin costume, complete with a bright green mask and purple cape. For a team that entered the afternoon 0-1, several Titans fans on social media were not in the mood for an early Halloween celebration.
One reaction summed up the mood bluntly: "Corny behavior from a team that hasn't been good in a while."
Another fan asked , "Are we going to win today? Why we playing dress up?" Another fan wrote , "Football is secondary to these folks."
The outfit drew even more criticism because Tennessee had opened the season with a 23-10 loss to the New York Jets . One user asked , "Am I a boomer now or should we not be doing this until we win a game."
Another fan had seen enough , writing, "Ight ive seen enough, cut him."
One more reaction read , "Maybe start winning some games before doing this nonsense."
Chestnut's costume was not a one-off. He wore a Black Panther-themed outfit before Tennessee's Week 1 matchup with New York, giving him Marvel-themed entrances before each of the Titans ' first two games.
The timing has made the bit tougher for some fans to appreciate.
Tennessee entered Week 2 trying to avoid another frustrating start after finishing 3-14 in 2025.
Robert Saleh's first regular-season game as Titans head coach ended with a 13-point loss to his former team, while Cam Ward finished with a 64.3 PFN QB Impact score that ranked near the bottom of the league.

The struggles already created early criticism around Tennessee following the Jets' defeat.
Chestnut is not one of the players carrying the offense. The Titans' current depth chart lists Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears ahead of him, with Chestnut primarily serving as a reserve back and special teams contributor. He did not record an offensive touch in the opener.
Tennessee entered Sunday ranked No. 26 in PFN's NFL Team Impact standings with a 68.1 grade. The offense was rated at 68.9, leaving plenty of room for improvement before anyone could accuse the Titans of having solved their bigger problems.
There is nothing unusual about NFL players turning their pregame arrivals into fashion statements. Chestnut simply took the concept several steps further. When the team is losing, though, dressing like a Spider-Man villain was always going to make him an easy target.
