Diogo Costa Keeps Portugal Alive and Builds His Golden Glove Case
Portugal is through to the Round of 16, and goalkeeper Diogo Costa is the biggest reason why. In Portugal's hard-fought 2-1 victory over Croatia , Costa delivers another elite performance, making several crucial saves that keep his side in control when Croatia threatens to turn the match around.

Time and time again, Costa comes up with the answer. Whether it is quick reactions in the box, commanding his area, or making difficult saves look routine, he gives Portugal the confidence to stay aggressive knowing they have one of the world's best goalkeepers behind them. Without his heroics, this is a very different result.
Costa is also making a strong case to win the tournament's Golden Glove award. He has consistently been one of the World Cup's top goalkeepers, producing big saves in the biggest moments while showing outstanding composure under pressure. His performances continue to prove why he is among the elite at his position.
As Portugal now prepares for a Round of 16 showdown with Spain , Costa's form gives them every reason to believe they can make a deep World Cup run. If he continues playing at this level, Portugal will always have a chance.
