The Creed Brothers are done with WWE. Fightful Select reported that Julius and Brutus Creed have left the company, and it appears to be a mutual parting of ways after their contract expired.
The news came after the brothers were moved to the alumni section of WWE’s official roster page. WWE.com’s profile for Julius now lists him as alumni, a change that usually means talent are no longer with the company. WWE has not made an official announcement about the brothers’ status.
The exit comes not long after the Creeds made a surprise return to NXT. On the September 1 episode, they attacked Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno from behind after a tag match. “We’re back, baby,” Julius said afterward.
That run did not last long. On the October 20 episode, they lost to Hank Walker and Tank Ledger in the quarterfinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Brutus accidentally distracted the referee, and Julius was pinned after Hank and Tank’s “Honk Honk” finisher.
Their main roster run had stalled before that. In May, they wrestled on Raw under luchador masks as Los Americanos Hermanos, teaming with Chad Gable’s “Original” El Grande Americano. Their last main roster match was a loss to Los Americanos on the May 18 episode of Raw, and they were mostly seen on WWE Main Event after that.
The Creeds were standouts in their first NXT run. They won the 2022 Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and the NXT Tag Team Championship before being called up to Raw in 2023. They joined Chad Gable in the American Made stable the following year.
Now free agents, the brothers would be a strong addition to any tag team division. If they land in AEW, here are five teams they could face.
The fastest way for the Creeds to make a statement would be to go after the AEW World Tag Team Champions. Matt and Nick Jackson hold the titles and are set to defend them against Mark Davis and Jake Doyle at Full Gear on November 14.
The matchup would be a clash of styles. The Bucks are known for their speed and high-risk offense, while the Creeds rely on amateur wrestling and raw power. The brothers trying to ground the Bucks would give the match a clear story.
Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are as old-school as tag team wrestling gets, and the Creeds would fit right into that style. FTR are locked in a best-of-five series with the Motor City Machine Guns, and they trail 2-1 going into the fourth match.
Once that series is settled, a fresh challenge from two former NXT Tag Team Champions would give FTR a new rivalry. It would also be a strong test for the Creeds, since FTR are one of the most decorated tag teams of their era.
This matchup has an obvious hook. Kofi and Austin Creed, formerly Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods of The New Day, left WWE and debuted at All In: London on August 30, when they won the AEW World Trios Championship with Swerve Strickland in their first match.
A Creed Brothers vs. New Level feud would come with a built-in joke about Austin Creed’s name, and both teams would bring years of WWE history with them. It would also be a battle between two acts looking to prove they were worth more than WWE gave them.
Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona are one of the most physical teams in AEW, and they are part of The Demand with Ricochet. A matchup with the Creeds would be a hard-hitting battle between two teams built on strength.
Few teams in AEW can match the Creeds’ size and power, and Gates of Agony are one of them. Gates of Agony would give them that opportunity, and it would let the brothers show they can win a slugfest as well as a wrestling match.
Mark Davis and Jake Doyle are rolling as part of the Don Callis Family. They helped the group win the men’s Blood and Guts match on November 4, and they challenge The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Championship at Full Gear.
Facing them would put the Creeds into one of AEW’s biggest stories right away. Davis and Doyle are big, aggressive, and backed by a large faction, which would make the brothers natural babyfaces in their first AEW program.
