- Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr Pushes for Signing of PSG Starter
Lucas Chevalier 's backup at the start of the season, Matvey Safonov , earned his starting spot at PSG , where he is now the undisputed starter. His performances have not gone unnoticed as the transfer window approaches.
Recruited by PSG from Krasnodar for around $22 million two years ago, Safonov was not supposed to be more than a simple substitute at PSG.

The Russian international surprised everyone by earning his place in Luis Enrique's eyes and sending Chevalier to the bench. A real coup from the Russian. Brilliant in the Champions League, Safonov logically has suitors ahead of the next transfer window.
In Europe, some clubs are closely monitoring his situation. But according to information from the Saudi media (via Foot 01 ), this is also the case for Al-Nassr.
The recent Saudi Pro League champion is not satisfied with Brazilian goalkeeper Bento's performances and is very interested in Safonov as his replacement.
The Saudi media reveals that the club where Cristiano Ronaldo plays wants to make Safonov its starter for next season.

Financially, the Saudi team has the means to compete with PSG and offer a colossal salary to the former Krasnodar player. However, to convince Luis Campos and Nasser Al-Khelaifi to sell the 25-year-old goalkeeper, they will need to make an unbeatable offer.
For now, a sum of $27 million has been mentioned, but it is not certain that this would be enough to convince the Parisian management.
Two years after spending $22 million to sign Safonov from Krasnodar, the Parisian management could legitimately expect at least double that sum to sell their last line of defense.
A sale of Safonov is not impossible for PSG, which is following several leads to fill the goalkeeper position next season. In recent days, the name of Portuguese international Diogo Costa from FC Porto has been mentioned. But this lead is expensive since his release clause is set at $66 million.

Surely everything will depend on the price that Al-Nassr is willing to pay. Safonov is a great player, but even as a starter, he has not earned the absolute trust of the Parisian club's observers due to specific mistakes he has made on several occasions.

With good money, and considering that Enrique believed he would find what he was looking for in Chevalier, despite already having Safonov in his squad, surely the Spanish coach and Campos will have some names in mind to go out and look for another option in the market.
