Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions was the Minnesota Vikings ' first since November 30, 2025. The loss snapped the Vikings' 11-game win streak, which was the longest active streak in the league.
Kyler Murray started five of the team's first six wins of the season. Entering Week 8, he was tied for the longest active winning streak among all quarterbacks.

But with the loss, the sole owner of the longest active winning streak among all quarterbacks is J.J. McCarthy, who started in four of Minnesota's final five games of the 2025 season. McCarthy, who was traded to the New York Giants on September 28, 2026, won his first start with his new team in a 27-21 victory over the Houston Texans .
The Giants had a bye in Week 8, but McCarthy can extend his streak this Sunday as they travel to face the 2-6 Philadelphia Eagles . We will see whether the third-year quarterback can extend the streak against an Eagles team that has lost six straight.
