🏈 Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig praised the Steelers' OLBs for being selfless.
"I just think it just shows how selfless of a group we are. We all have different talents, unique talents in regards of our rushes. But at the end of the day, we all have nothing but love for each other," Herbig said on Cam Heyward's Not Just Football podcast. "And we all just wanna see each other succeeding and [getting] better. That ultimate goal is getting that trophy at the end of the year, so I have nothing but love for all this group and just being able to go to war with these guys every week, man, is a blessing."
🏈 Herbig also praised T.J. Watt and Alex Highsmith.
"Obviously these two guys were big brothers for me coming into the league and taking me under their wing. So there's nothing but respect for the two of them," Herbig said. "And I think it's mutual and there's no hate between any of us, and there was never any animosity of like, 'I should be playing or you should be.' There was none of that. It was, like, one of us is gonna eat and that's just what it is. Together we eat and this year we're gonna have double digits sacks, all of us. So, I think it's awesome to see that come to fruition and the fact they could get it done that all three of us could get deals to take care of our families and still be able to play the game we love at a high level on the same team is awesome."
🏈 ESPN has the Steelers ranked 21st in their final preseason power rankings.
"Entering his 22nd — and final — season, Rodgers has appeared in 287 NFL games. The earliest he can join this exclusive club is Week 13 against the Texans, which is fittingly a primetime game on Sunday night. He'll mark another significant day earlier that week when he turns 43 on Dec. 2," Brooke Pryor of ESPN wrote. "Total games played is just one of several milestones in Rodgers' grasp this season. He can also pass Peyton Manning (579) for third-most touchdowns thrown in NFL history. Rodgers enters this season with 572 total passing touchdowns, including the playoffs."
🏈 Former Steelers offensive lineman Willie Colon thinks the Steelers should have let Will Howard go.
"They should've let go of Will Howard. If you're talking about what they let go, and I know we're still sifting through this roster, there's some names that I feel like should've made it but didn't. You have Mason Rudolph as your number two. Drew Allar, he's a rookie, but I think what stuck out on tape for me was his ability to improvise when things broke down," Colon said on In the Locker Room on Steelers Nation Radio. "Mike McCarthy talked about that, I think, after the game against the Jets. Will Howard, he didn't show me enough. If you're trying to build a roster that you can go to battle with and win games, there's some guys that I feel like you're gonna need that they let go. I think you can afford to let Will Howard go."

🏈 Former Steelers linebacker Vince Williams envisions 'exotic' role for Nick Herbig in the Steelers defense.
"I think we're gonna see a lot more of these exotic fronts and exotic linebacker play with Herbig coming off the bench and prowling around the middle of the field," Williams said Monday on Steelers Blitz on Steelers Nation Radio. "Being an additional rusher, being an additional linebacker in there. I think he's gonna be a half-type player. I think he does a great job rushing over guards. He's very versatile. I think he's a smart enough player. He has great instincts. Coming out of college, everybody thought he was gonna transition into an off-ball linebacker. The versatility that we have in him leads me to believe we don't need to be as deep at the middle linebacker position."
🏈 Adam Schefter said the Steelers didn't get an offer for Mason Rudolph that was intriguing enough to move him.
"The Steelers, I think all along, we know they like Howard and Allar. Aaron's the starter. The question was around Rudolph. They didn't get anything, offer-wise, that was worth doing. They like Mason Rudolph as a player, so they're not just going to give up on him right now. It just doesn't make sense," Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show .
