The Dallas Mavericks will be facing the Brooklyn Nets , and they could be without one of their key frontcourt players in the matchup. Daniel Gafford has missed the past two games as he deals with an ankle injury, and it just continues to show how much the frontcourt has suffered this season because of injuries.

On the bright side, they've gotten Anthony Davis back, which is big for a team looking for scoring and defense. Gafford has not been able to play with Davis much this season, and it looks like that trend could continue, depending on his status for the upcoming game.

Daniel Gafford 's injury status vs. Nets
Gafford is listed as doubtful with right ankle injury management, which means he most likely won't suit up against the Nets. Davis will have to take care of the frontcourt in this matchup, especially with the recent news of Dereck Lively II being out for the rest of the season due to a foot injury.

Injuries have been the main story for the Mavericks for the past two seasons, and they have not seen what a fully healthy team can do. That has led to a lot of losses this season, but they've been able to put together a few wins over the past few games.
The latest story that is buzzing around the Mavericks is whether they will trade Anthony Davis. With where the Mavericks are in the standings, it's possible that they could be sellers and try to get some assets back for the future. At the same time, they still have not seen what the team looks like with Kyrie Irving , who is still sidelined as he recovers from an ACL injury last season.
The Mavericks' season could already be down and out by the time Irving gets back, which makes sense why Davis is in trade rumors.
