With Los Angeles Dodgers star Kyle Tucker coming back to the lineup in Friday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers , he missed the last few games with a back injury, which saw Alex Call take up some of the production when he was absent. As the Dodgers outfielder Tucker was dealing with a back injury , manager Dave Roberts spoke on Call's outings and made an interesting comparison to Tucker that is sure to catch anybody's attention.
As Tucker left Monday's 2-1 win over the Minnesota Twins with the back issue, Call would get his name called to fill in and has done a good job over the last three games; he's provided four hits, two RBIs, and a home run (his first of the season). When Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts was talking about Call, he would say that with him filling in for the injured Tucker, "you don't lose much."
"It's been great. Alex is such a good guy to have on the team," Roberts said, via Sports Illustrated. "He knows his role. He's dependable. He prepares. When you lose a guy like Kyle for whatever period of time, to fill in with Alex, you don't lose much. You really don't. I love his energy."
The comment was meant to hype up the 31-year-0ld in Call, but there is no denying that fans are taking it any other way, especially when Tucker has been underwhelming this season. So far, Tucker has recorded a .234 batting average to go along with six home runs and 40 RBIs in 75 games.
