- Dean Wade’s Zero Shot Attempts Are A 76ers Problem

Dean Wade is doing exactly what the 76ers paid him to do on defense, yet his complete refusal to shoot is becoming a major liability for the roster. The front office signed him for his versatility and passing, but his limited offensive production is hurting the team's spacing. According to The Sixer Sense , Wade has been as good as advertised in the early season, but his lack of aggression on the scoring end is a clear issue that needs fixing.
The Numbers Do Not Lie
For a starter, an average of only 3.6 points across nearly 28 minutes per night is far too low for the defensive-minded forward. According to The Sixer Sense , Wade's three-point shooting sits at just 30 percent on very low volume, rendering him a non-threat that opposing defenses need not respect. He is averaging only 4.5 field goal attempts per 100 possessions, which stands as the lowest mark among all qualified players in the league.

During training camp, the 76ers urged the forward to increase his shooting this season, but those directives seem to have gone unheeded on the court. In just 27 minutes of gameplay against the Knicks a few days ago, Wade secured many open looks yet recorded zero field goal attempts. That is not just a bad night; it is a pattern that stifles the entire offense and makes it harder for Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey to operate.
A Two-Way Player With One Arm Tied
His defense on OG Anunoby was exquisite during the recent matchup, and he quietly racked up 10 assists against the Pistons, doubling his previous career high. The Sixer Sense reports that the front office pursued him because of his defensive versatility and connective passing.
Wade managed only five shots in 30 minutes of action even against the Pistons, despite displaying his playmaking flair. To maximize Dean Wade's unique skill set, the 76ers require him to become a much more willing shooter.
