Dennis Schroder is close to the record for the most teams played for by a single player. He is currently on his 12th team after being traded to the Charlotte Hornets .
He continues to be a serviceable player. Schroder last played for the Cleveland Cavaliers, helping them reach the Eastern Conference Finals. However, that was not enough for the team to keep him around.

Schroder said he had a hard time playing two guards who are ball dominant to get going.
Schroder has no problem with moving on. He wants to stay in the NBA and is already looking to secure another contract because a massive change in player salaries is expected to happen in the league.
"I've heard that in 2028, NBA salaries are going to increase even more. Obviously, it's not just about money, but if they put 10, 15, or 20 million a year on the table, then I might think about it a little longer," he said in an interview with OMR Podcast.
Schroder made the statement after being asked if he would ever play in the EuroLeague once his NBA career is over.

The German guard is looking to maximize his earnings, which is a notable storyline given that he became a major topic in the NBA for "losing the bag" during the 2021 offseason. At the time, he declined a four-year, $84 million extension offer from the Los Angeles Lakers .
Reports said Schroder turned down the deal in hopes of playing another year and earning the opportunity to secure a $120 million contract.

Schroder will be 34 years old in 2028, but he can still build on the opportunity in front of him.
He signed with the Hornets, and there is a belief that he will have a bigger role at point guard. He is expected to serve as a backup to Coby White after the team traded franchise player and star point guard LaMelo Ball to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 32-year-old's career earnings are not bad for a role player. According to Spotrac, he has earned a total of $117 million so far.

He is set to earn $14 million this season and $15 million next season.
An NBA scout suggested that the Hornets got an upgrade in the PG position with Schroder.
"They wanted somebody who could be more of a distributor and run the offense, getting his teammates involved, as opposed to mostly go get his. Dennis Schröder is somebody that fits the mold of what they're looking for much more closely," the anonymous team official was quoted as saying.
