The Denver Broncos selected Utah tight end Dallen Bentley with the 256th overall pick in the seventh round of the NFL draft on Saturday afternoon.
Bentley (6-4, 253 pounds) was a three-year player for the Utes, playing in 32 games from 2023-25. Bentley's best collegiate year came in 2025 when he hauled in 48 passes for 620 yards and six touchdowns. At the 2025 NFL combine, Bentley ran a 4.62 40-yard dash, good for middle-of-the-class status.
NFL.com's Lance Zeirlien points out Bentley had trouble with blocking, which may well be a primary focus in the Davis Webb/Sean Payton offense in Denver. Bentley also reunites with 2025 seventh-round pick and fellow tight end Caleb Lohner , and they could be fighting for the same roster spot in 2026.
Bentley is the second tight end the Broncos selected on Day 3 of the NFL draft, alongside fourth-rounder Justin Joly .
Final pick: 257th overall, "Mr. Irrelevant."
