The DFB squad will travel to North America with Dortmund players Nico Schlotterbeck, Waldemar Anton, Felix Nmechaand Maxi Beier. The DFB had already announced the first World Cup squad members earlier in the morning via short videos on social media. At the press conference at midday, Nagelsmann confirmed the inclusion of the BVB quartet.
The DFB squad will begin their World Cup preparations on 27 May in Herzogenaurach. This will be followed by two friendly matches against Finland (31 May, 20:45 CEST) and hosts the USA (6 June, 20:30 CEST). In the group stage of the finals, the team will face Curaçao (14 June, 19:00 CEST), Ivory Coast (20 June, 22:00 CEST) and Ecuador (25 June, 22:00 CEST).
Dortmund's number one, Gregor Kobel, has been named in the squad for Switzerland. Marcel Sabitzerand Carney Chukwuemekawill represent Austria at the World Cup. Daniel Svenssonis part of the Swedish squad.
The Norwegian and Algerian squads will also be announced today, Thursday, so we will find out then whether Julian Ryersonand Ramy Bensebainiwill take part in the World Cup.
