- How did Tylan Grable play in place of Spencer Brown vs. Ravens?
While Buffalo Bills swing tackle Tylan Grabe has started a pair meaningless regular season finales the past, his first real start in the NFL came in Week 8 at home against the Ravens.
The third-year pro from University of Central Florida was thrust into the lineup with star right tackle Spencer Brown nursing a back injury. And we know back ailments have plagued the towering, uber-athletic tackle for much of his professional career.

And Grable made relief appearances for Brown in Week 5 against the Rams and in the Week 6 victory over the Raiders.
Unsurprisingly, the 82 snaps — yes, 82 snaps — against the Ravens were the most in a single game in Grable's young NFL tenure. Heck, he'd been on the field for fewer than 80 total snaps in each of the 2024 and 2025 campaigns.
And the recently turned 27 year old played some steady right tackle protecting Josh Allen and paving lanes for James Cook in the Week 8 victory.
The charting-based metrics were kind to Grable, as he was hit with allowing just two pressures on 42 pass-blocking snaps against Baltimore.

Both of the pressures he allowed came in "true" pass-set situations — meaning, no play-action, screen, or chip help — and he had 12 of those against Baltimore.
On runs between Grable and the tight end and the tight end and outside the tackle box, Cook toted the rock nine times for 46 yards (5.11 yards per).
Grable did receive the highest negatively graded run-block play percentage from PFF among Buffalo's starting offensive linemen in this game, at 13.2%.For context, Buffalo's bookend tackle to Grable in Week 8 was of course Dion Dawkins, and his negatively graded run-block play rate was just 5.3%.
Undeniably there's room for improvement for Grable.
But the upside — while not All-Pro caliber — is there.
And in what was a respectable albeit not otherworldly performance against the Ravens, the Bills swing tackle got valuable starting experience.
