With LeBron James
' reputation as one of the most polarizing athletes of all time, there was no way he wasn't going to catch any flak for his free-agency decision this year.
As an unrestricted free agent, he had the chance to write the last chapters of his NBA story and went with the stacked Philadelphia 76ers
, choosing the star-studded team over his first team in the league, the Cleveland Cavaliers
and the team he first won an NBA title with, the Miami Heat
.

He even shunned a dream pairing with fellow NBA megastar Stephen Curry
on the Golden State Warriors
, opting to sign a two-year deal with Philly, which has top-tier players like Joel Embiid
, Jaylen Brown
, Tyrese Maxey
, Anfernee Simons
and VJ Edgecombe
.
Naturally, Bron's critics came out in droves, pitchforks in hand, saying that the 41-year-old took another easy route towards another possible NBA championship. Some went as far as to say that he's going to spend the final years of his decorated career "ring chasing."
However, LeBron's former teammate Chris Bosh
defended him against such allegations, saying there's nothing wrong with vying for titles late in his career. In fact, Bosh claimed that if Michael Jordan
and Kobe Bryant
had their way, they would have wanted a fighting chance to compete for the Larry O'Brien trophy during the twilight of their respective careers.

Everyone chases rings
Every player in the NBA wants to win championships. It doesn't matter if he's a 19-year-old rookie or a 40-year-old veteran; they're in there for the chance to hoist the NBA title at the end of the season and etch their names in league history. Unfortunately, it won't happen for everyone. Regardless of how great a player is, the likelihood of a player earning a championship ring is slim.
LeBron is a fine example of that. Despite playing 23 seasons, he only has four titles to his name. And now that his legendary career is winding down, Bosh said there's nothing wrong with wanting to go out on a bang.

"Philly was a pretty good choice, too. So a lot of people call it ring chasing. Everybody chases rings,"
Bosh declared
.
"If you didn't think Kobe and Jordan were ring chasers too, you're crazy,"
CB continued. "Everybody wants a ring. I'll chase a ring right now."

A lot of work still needs to be done
The Sixers undeniably have a lot of firepower and depth. The great thing for LeBron is that, with the talent this team has, he doesn't need to push the pedal to the metal every single night and can make do with letting younger studs like JB, Maxey, and even Edgecombe take the wheel on some nights.
Bosh, though, pointed out that the Sixers need to figure things out on both ends if they want to make their title aspirations a reality by the end of the season.

"For them, the most important thing is figuring out how they're going to play, how they're going to play together, their defensive schemes and offensive schemes. But most importantly, the five that are out there on the court and then the team, how are they going to come together?"
CB stated.
"How are they going to share the ball? How are they going to be solid as a unit moving forward? That's going to be the hard part. And, hell, like any other team, being healthy, fighting through the ups and downs, that's what it's about."
The Sixers will blow a lot of opposing teams out, but there will also be some nights when the superstars struggle to find their place in such a loaded roster. Sacrifice will be key, as with only one ball around, everybody can't handle the ball all the time and take 20 shots a night.
