The disastrous Haason Reddick trade is mercifully complete
The New York Jets are loaded with draft capital in the 2026 NFL Draft, especially at the top, where they have two first and two second-round picks at their disposal.
The Jets don’t have their third-round pick, however, which was used two offseasons ago in the Haason Reddick trade that proved to be a disaster for New York.
With the 2026 NFL Draft coming up, let’s revisit that trade and see what New York gave up.
Original trade details for the Haason Reddick swap between the Eagles and Jets
-
New York Jets receive: DE Haason Reddick
-
Philadelphia Eagles receive: 2026 third-round pick (No. 68 overall)
How did Haason Reddick play with the Jets?
Reddick was a non-factor for the Jets after being traded there in the 2024 offseason. He was a holdout to start the season after having displeasure with his contract, and missed the first seven weeks of the year.
Reddick finally showed up to work after that after agreeing to a contract adjustment with the Jets. He ended up being a regular on defensive after that, playing in the final 10 games of the year, while recording 14 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a sack for the Jets.
In 2025, Reddick signed a one-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in free agency, but struggled there as well, recording only 2.5 sacks in 13 games with the team.
Who won the Haason Reddick trade between the Eagles and Jets?
This deal was an absolute disaster for the Jets, as Reddick was more a distraction than a contributor in the lone season he played in New York. Not to mention, he didn’t have nearly the same amount of success with the Jets compared to the Eagles.
To give up the No. 68 pick in return is quite a rough trade.
Who did the Eagles take with the pick from the Haason Reddick trade?
The Eagles picked OT Markell Bell at 68.
