The Los Angeles Dodgers may have an embarrassment of riches that is unmatched in MLB today, but that doesn't make them immune to the injury bug as a team. Their starting rotation, in particular, has been hit hard — with the likes of Blake Snell , Tyler Glasnow , and Gavin Stone all spending considerable time on the injured list. Even Shohei Ohtani is out of commission from the mound as of this moment.
The good news for the Dodgers is that they are starting to get a cleaner bill of health. Snell already returned to action , striking out 10 in his return back on Tuesday in a 5-4 win over the Kansas City Royals . And Stone appears to be next, as he was incredible in his most recent rehab start in Triple-A.
Stone allowed one run in three innings, but he did strike out five — including the final four batters he faced.

Stone has been out of action in the big leagues for so long. His 2024 injury was so brutal that it forced him to miss the entirety of the 2025 season as well as a significant portion of the 2026 campaign. He underwent surgery on the ninth of October back in 2024 to repair his entire right shoulder, and now, he's hot on the comeback trail.
The 27-year-old has always had top-quality stuff in the minor leagues, although those strikeouts numbers haven't quite translated during his time in the big leagues. But Stone knows how to get outs and cobble together some quality innings, and the Dodgers are about to become an even deeper team once he returns.
The Dodgers already had Yoshinobu Yamamoto , the iron man, to front the rotation, and then they added Tarik Skubal in the biggest deal prior to the trade deadline. This rotation is going to be a force to be reckoned with come October, and Stone's goal, without a doubt, is to be one of those contributors in their quest for a three-peat.
