During their bye week, the Miami Dolphins could add depth to their depleted secondary.
Former Atlanta Falcons cornerback Cobee Bryant worked out for the Dolphins, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz.
Bryant, 25, played four seasons at Kansas (2021-24) and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors three times. In 47 games with the Jayhawks, he recorded 128 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 22 passes defensed, 13 interceptions, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
After going undrafted in 2025, Bryant signed with the Falcons. He appeared in seven games for Atlanta that season and made one start. In 102 defensive snaps, Bryant recorded 10 tackles, one tackle for loss, and one pass defended. He also played 29 special-teams snaps.
During final roster cuts in August, Atlanta waived Bryant. The Falcons later re-signed him to their practice squad but released him two days later.
Miami could use cornerback help after several injuries
Since leaving Atlanta, Bryant has also worked out for the Green Bay Packers. However, Green Bay decided not to sign him following last week's workout.
Miami could use help in the secondary. Both Storm Duck and Darrell Baker Jr. remain on the physically unable to perform list, while JuJu Brents suffered a stinger during the Dolphins' Week 5 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
That leaves Chris Johnson, Jason Marshall Jr., Jaylin Simpson, Reese Taylor and Marcellas Dial Jr. as Miami's only healthy cornerbacks.
Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley praised Johnson for his performance, including six tackles and a forced fumble against Cincinnati.
"There's a couple plays where, just like any of us, I'm sure that he wants back, but I see the confidence overall just growing with him," Hafley said. "I mean, you can see it when he's playing out there.
"When he had some moments where guys caught balls on him, I kind of didn't feel like the response was where we needed it to be. I don't feel that anymore. I thought this was a big test for him with the wide receivers they had as a rookie and overall, I'd say he answered it pretty well and regardless of the outcome of certain plays, I love the confidence and the energy that he's playing with."
